The Outreach verse is taken from Isaiah 61:1, which states “The Spirit of The Sovereign Lord is upon me, because He has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners freed.” The Outreach Ministry is comprised of 30 members and is led by Viola Ngwenya. The Purpose of the Outreach Ministry is to reach out and show God's love to people who may not be feeling that God loves them. It is for this purpose that the Outreach Ministry embarks on the following missions: · Bramely Children's Home, to visit the children at the home andspend time with them and talk about issues affecting them. At the home, we also try to make the children's birthdays special, by giving them cards and gifts. We further try to create relationships that will not only aim to bring them closer to Christ but can cater to their other needs and to show them Christ in a tangible way (ps: God is Love); ·Pretoria Academic Hospital, to fellowship with the people at thehospital and their families and pray for them; · Abba House, to visit the babies, hold them and play and praywith them. Not only does the Outreach Ministry try and encourage the children/patients at the hospitals and/or homes, but we also try and encourage those who look after them. The Outreach Ministry also collects clothes, blankets and food and gives to those in need. Every year on June 16, we have Street Outreach, where the Outreach Ministry and the Soccer Ministry combine and go to Sunnyside to have a soup kitchen. The Outreach Ministry also takes clothes to give to the people in need. You are welcome to join us at any of our outreaches. Please consult the announcement tab to see when our outreaches are. |
